Installation audiovisuelle dans le cadre du Colloque Ports et Portes
Centre culturel international de Cerisy-la-Salle

AÉROPORTS est une installation Ambiance Spécifique que j'ai conçue et réalisée lors du colloque Ports et Portes 8-11 septembre 2024. Comme les fois précédentes à Cerisy, mon intervention est née de ma présence dans le château, suivant les interventions, vivant et échangeant avec les participants les moments, y compris conviviaux et informels, des journées passées ensemble.
La Sérendipité - comme toujours - m'a guidée : « par hasard », j'avais à ma disposition une vingtaine de haut-parleurs portables (avec lesquels je travaille habituellement) et j'avais avec moi de minuscules leds clignotantes. J'ai récupéré les enregistrements audio que j'ai réalisés entre 2008 et 2024 dans 24 aéroports différents, dans 12 pays différents, et j'ai installé ces sons en hauteur et au plafond de l'endroit le plus haut du château : le Grenier, la nuit, avec les lumières éteintes.

Les voix des aéroports sont les sons qui anticipent et précèdent les vols ; les petites LED clignotantes évoquent les lumières des avions la nuit, dans le ciel.

 

AÉROPORTS is an Ambiance Specific installation that I designed and created for the Ports et Portes conference from 8 to 11 September 2024. As on previous occasions at Cerisy, my work grew out of my presence at the Château, following the presentations, experiencing and sharing with the participants the moments, including the convivial and informal ones, of the days spent together.
Serendipity - as always - guided me: 'by chance' I had about twenty portable loudspeakers (which I usually work with) and I had tiny flashing LEDs with me. I collected the audio recordings I had made between 2008 and 2024 in 24 different airports in 12 different countries and installed these sounds high up on the ceiling of the highest part of the castle: the attic, at night, with the lights off.

The airport voices are the sounds that anticipate and precede the flights; the little flashing LEDs evoke the lights of the planes in the sky at night.

  Abbiamo bisogno dei vostri sogni   We need your dreams (scroll down/click)   Nel mese luglio 2021, nell’ambito del convegno  L’Enchantement qui réviént  svoltosi negli spazi magici del Castello di Cerisy ho proposto e realizzato  Entre son et songe: Dream’s Cloud ,  installazione visiva e sonora, poi utilizzata per la copertina del volume degli atti. Nella proposta scrivevo: "Nello spirito delle Parole Gelate di Rabelais (1) , appesi a palloncini colorati e luminosi, una dozzina di altoparlanti portatili diffonderanno di giorno e di notte, voci che raccontano i loro sogni; voci anonime raccolte prima e durante la residenza che saranno diffuse solo nei modi e in occasione dell’installazione." Giuseppe Gavazza Dreams Cloud A bit in the spirit of Rabelais' Paroles gelées ,  but without the fighting (make dreams, not war!).  Attached to luminous balloons, I install a dozen pocket loudspeakers scattered around the garden, which will broadcast voices narrating their dreams.  During the first installations, at the Château de Cerisy-la Salle in July and August 2021, I collected more than eighty dreams told by voices speaking in French, Italian, English, Chinese, Korean, Tunisian, Spanish.   The collection of dreams continues with new calls for new opportunities. Le voci del mondo, Projection sonore spatiale par le Dôme Sonore,  création française, Auditorium Grenoble INP, #AST 2015  mercredi 18 novembre, 20 et 22h Le voci del mondo (The voices of the world) for orchestra of loudspeakers, everyone with its Genesis player inside  is a composition conceived for a 24 loudspeakers orchestra: in this concert the 24 speakers ACROE's  Projection sonore spatiale Dôme Sonore. Working for my PhD on the subject of GENESIS (software of musical synthesis for physical modelling) as a tool for musical formalisation (mainly for composition) I have realized many thousands of models capable to generate sounds. Something new, Tuesday June 10th 2014: about a first performance of a new composition at Torino, Festival Antidogma

For Festival of Contemporary Music Antidogma , next Tuesday June 10th, at h. 9 p.m., Teatro Vittoria, Turin, first performance of Dodici corde e mezzo , a new composition for guitar and synthesized sounds. The soloist will be Davide Ficco. The piece propose a personal approach to electroacoustic music. Normally compositions mixing electronic and acoustic instruments find a balance by amplifying the acoustic instruments: acoustic instruments grow up to electroacoustic dimension. Strange Duo.mg,  Manuel Zigante cellist and Giuseppe Gavazza composer and electronic performer participated at the first Festival delle Statistica, Treviso,  Friday 11th and Saturday 12th september 2015  presenting  Musica, razionalità, fantasia a program of compositions related with the main theme of the Festival, in collaboration with Daniela Cocchi che trattava il tema Statistica e letteratura In this occurrence Strange Duo.mg presented some new composition completed by some other of repertoire.
